We are busy busy busy. Right, fellow mamas? Because we are busy and on the go, I like to have a rough meal plan for the week, each day themed, i.e. brinner, sandwiches, soup, taco night, etc. That way I always know I have a go-to plan.

Sandwich night is the kids’ fave. I have no idea why. Except maybe because they’re homeschooled and never get sent off somewhere with a sandwich in their lunch bag. We typically eat leftovers for lunch around here. Not a bad thing. Just not a lot of sandwiches.

Sourdough Wraps — A fast alternative when you’re out of bread

I usually make a couple sandwich loaves of sourdough bread each week, especially during the fall and winter months. As spring and summer begin, I tend to find myself in the house less and using the oven less, for sure. So in order to have bread at the ready, my go-to becomes sourdough english muffins and sourdough wraps. Although the wraps require a lot less forethought and are a fast solution to needing some kind of bread NOW!

3 Tablespoons melted fat, like butter, coconut oil, tallow, etc.

1/8 teaspoon or 3 pinches of sea salt, can omit if using butter. We like salt around here 😉

Milk or water to thin, depending on the thickness of your starter. I like to keep my starter on the thicker side for making pancakes or tortillas on demand.

Sourdough Wraps Instructions

Preheat cast iron skillets with a little grease on Medium-Low.

Whisk all the ingredients together in a large bowl.

Once heated, pour 1/4 cup batter into skillet. Quickly spread batter around with the back of spoon. Cook the wraps until the edges start to lift and bubbles dot the surface. This happens fast, maybe less than a minute! Gently release the wrap by using a metal spatula and turn over. The other side will take less time to cook.
